2009 Safety & Savings Bill (House Bill 3508)
The 2009 Safety and Savings Bill was passed during the last legislative session. It phased in the implementation of Measure 57 and increased earned time to create savings during the fiscal crisis.

Senate Bill 1007
Senate Bill 1007 is the current draft of a bill to amend the 2009 Safety & Savings Bill (House Bill 3508). It adds to the list of crimes for which prisoners cannot recieve the 10% earned time increase.
Getting information to Legislators
One of the ways PSJ gets information to legislators is by creating 1 to 2 page informational documents.

On Second Look for Youth
Second Look for youth charged as adults was strongly considered for inclusion in the 2009 Safety & Savings Bill, but was ultimately cut. It would have allowed youth charged as adults a chance to have their mandatory sentence reviewed after serving half of their time.
