Timetable and Checklist for Planning Your House Party

(12 easy steps to having a fantastic house party!)

 

5 Weeks Prior to Event

  1. Schedule date with PSJ House Party Coordinator
  2. Make invitation list of 20-40 people (see attached for ideas)

4 Weeks Prior to Event

  1. Send your invite list to PSJ House Party Coordinator, so the invitations can get sent out; your invite list should include name, address and phone number

3 Weeks Prior to Event

  1. Get someone to volunteer to be your “super volunteer” of the evening, to help answer the door, sign in people, collect checks and help out with last minute details
  2. Make phone calls to your invite list to make sure that everyone received the mailed or e-mailed invitation

 2 Weeks Prior to Event

  1. Make follow up calls to those who haven’t RSVP’d to ask if they are coming
  2. Keep a list of who is coming

1 Week Prior to Event

  1. Decide who will do the introduction; prepare and practice introduction

Week of the Event

  1. Remind door person of the time you need them
  2. Make sure you have cups, napkins, etc.
  3. Identify the refreshments you will be serving – keep it simple

1 Week after Event

  1. Send Thank You notes to your guests.
