Oregon: Prison System Primer 2006
October 19, 2006 - 11:01am
For the past six years, Partnership for Safety and Justice (formerly the Western Prison Project) has been a leading voice advocating for safe and sensible change in Oregon’s criminal justice system. We’ve been a visible presence at every legislative session since 2001 and have learned a lot since we began. Now, we’d like to share some of what we’ve learned with you.
The four-page Prison System Primer includes:
- Basic Facts About Oregon's Prison System
- Safe and Sensible Solutions to Maintaining Public Safety While Making Better Use of Tax Dollars
- The Cost of Oregon's Prison System
- Crime and Incarceration Rates Comparison, 1995-2002
- Information about Crime Survivors for Community Safety
