1,312 Oregon DV Survivors Served in 1 Day
March 9, 2010
A 24-Hour Census of Domestic Violence Shelters and Services found that 1,312 survivors of domestic violence were served by Oregon's community-based domestic violence programs on Sept. 15, 2009. That's 1,312 people in just one day.
Unfortunately, on the same day, there were 277 requests for services that went unmet because there wasn't enough funding to meet the need. Of these unmet requests, 230 were from victims seeking emergency shelter or transitional housing.
