Statewide Gathering Informative and Motivating

Over 70 enthusiastic members and concerned Oregonians came together Saturday, February 21st, for PSJ’s Statewide Gathering held in Salem.

The day helped prepare us to work together to influence our legislators on the issues we care so deeply about, issues affecting people convicted of crime, survivors of crime, and the families of both. We know that together we can help build a criminal justice system based on safety, prevention, accountability, healing, rehabilitation, and justice.

Participants attended presentations on the legislative process, how to best communicate with their legislators, and gained issue expertise by attending breakout sessions on Youth Justice, Crime Survivor Services, the Oregon Budget and Sentencing Reform and our Eugene “Think Outside the Box” campaign. Many participants committed to our Adopt Your Legislator Project, designed to deepen individual relationships with policymakers to the benefit of our collective policy change agenda. If you would like to sign up to participate, call or email us.

PSJ’s Lobby Day at the Capitol will be Friday, April 3rd. More information on this upcoming event will be posted soon!
